Rituals for Nourishment:
A Katonah Yoga Weekend Retreat

May 9-12, 2024

On Mother's Day weekend: May 9-12, 2024,  join Cari at Groundworks, a retreat space nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge, just two hours outside of the city. In community with others, we will move through embodiment practices using the Katonah yoga lens to ignite consciousness, nourish and soothe your nervous system, and alter your chemistry.

A retreat is an opportunity to use your time to self-reflect and replenish. Use this time to turn inward to reset, recenter, and nurture yourself. Twice daily Katonah yoga classes, meditation, and breathwork will provide you with dedicated time to stir your body, breath, and imagination and will initiate lasting effects to support you across your personal life and practice. You will be fed through conversations and delicious food made at home by homeowner and chef extraordinaire, Kristen Leonard, while wrapping yourself in the coziness of this place and in the company of fabulous humans for a long weekend of well fed spirit and joy.

Together, we will cultivate personal rituals through repetition, calling forth consciousness to the unconscious. With great techniques, repeated over time, we will build insight and inspiration to better understand ourselves and our capacity for transformation.

About Groundworks: Lodging & Accommodations

Groundworks offers a serene retreat nestled on 35 acres, boasting breathtaking views of the Shawangunk Ridge. This haven is designed for relaxation, focus, and creativity, providing a medley of activities to engage with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Guests can meander along walking trails, indulge in a peaceful meditation walk, unwind in gazebos, or luxuriate in hammocks with a book. The property features several spots to savor the sunset, including a deck, and multiple fire pits for nocturnal relaxation and stargazing.

The centerpiece is a renovated net-zero studio, formerly a garage, now a radiant 1200 sq. ft hall with a responsive sprung wood dance floor. It includes a fully equipped kitchen and one and a half bathrooms. The main residence, where hosts Kristen and Frank live, is a welcoming farmhouse with five bedrooms. It's a space shared with guests, offering home-cooked meals in a large kitchen, dining room, and a living room with a large fireplace. The comforts extend outdoors with a spacious deck, a fire pit, a hot tub and sauna!

An apartment perched above the stables provides stunning ridge views, accommodating 4-6 people with two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a kitchenette. Dining at Groundworks is a culinary delight with health-conscious, vegetable-centric dishes prepared from the freshest local produce, including organic garden offerings and eggs from the property's free-range chickens.

Please note:

Room & board portions for the cost of this retreat will go towards Groundworks primary goal: to provide free-of-cost residencies supporting people such as artists and activists who are working on projects that they value. It is of great purpose to know that we can partner in providing this support for their mission.
